Important Tips about New Born Baby/Child Health Care

Newborns have very poor thermoregulation, so they quickly become overwintered.  Babies born after a full 37 weeks in the womb have fewer complications.  Premature babies require special precautions.  The baby stays warm in the mother's womb.  So he feels cold at earth's temperature.  Apart from that, it takes time for the child's body to fully develop the heat control system.  The child should be kept at a warm temperature.  If the room temperature is 25 celsius, wrap it in a cotton cloth and a sackcloth.  If below this level, sweater should be used.  Babies usually sweat while breastfeeding.  So loosen the sweater at that time.  In winter, newborns must wear gloves, socks and earmuffs.

* Breastfeed the baby frequently.  Breast milk boosts immunity.  As a result, children are not easily affected by cold, cough etc.

 * It is better to open the windows of the house during the day and let the sunshine and fresh air enter the house, there is no harm even if the cold air comes.  Wet clothes must be dried in the sun without being dried indoors.

 * In winter, the baby should sleep in the lap of the mother, not in a cradle or under a separate mosquito net.  It will keep the baby warm, increase intimacy with the mother and facilitate breastfeeding.

 * If any member of the family or a relative has cold, cough, viral fever etc., they should avoid coming near the mother and newborn baby.

 * Avoid taking the child outside the house in winter.  If you want to put it in the sun, put it next to the window or from the balcony of the house.

 * Newborn babies do not need to be bathed immediately after birth.  Bathing should not be done for 72 hours after birth.  In this, the child's temperature control ability will develop.

 * It is better not to bathe the baby until the navel is dry.  Bathing twice a week is enough.  Close the doors and windows of the room before taking a bath.  Take a bath with lukewarm water (45 C), soft cloth or sponge, towel, vaseline, diaper etc.

Putting something on the navel is prohibited.  In winter, many people put oil on the baby's navel and keep it in the sun.  It can lead to navel infection.
